Crabby Jack’s is a destination po-boy joint for both locals and tourists alike. Serving 17 po-boys plus variations, outstanding sides, lunch plates and specials. The brainchild of Jacques – Imo’s founder Jacques Leonardi, Crabby Jack’s is a wonderful collision of gastro innovation and classic NOLA located in a nondescript free standing building on Jefferson Highway – about 20 minutes from the French Quarter, upriver on Claiborne Avenue.

Order from the counter, grab a seat and wait for your order. Service is efficient and friendly and the vibe is HAPPY. Everything is freshly made, so be prepared to wait up to 20 minutes for your order – well worth it.

My go-to po-boy here is shrimp remoulade and fried green tomato, dressed with a side of jambalaya and washed down with a Barq’s.   Friends rave about the cochon de lait (suckling pig roasted for up to 12 hours) and duck po-boys. I’ve tasted both and they are memorable and well worth ordering.

Open Monday through Saturday for lunch. 428 Jefferson Highway. http://crabbyjacksnola.com/
