Cochon Butcher

In the land of the Po-Boy and Muffuletta, Cochon Butcher has carved out a unique place in the hearts and minds of NOLA diners. In fact Chef Donald Link’s sandwich /butcher/charcuterie shop has set the competitive bar incredibly high with innovative memorable sandwiches and sides.

Expect a unique menu, outstanding and helpful counter service and sandwiches with serious bragging rights. The menu changes regularly. My two favorite constants are The Buckboard Bacon Melt – a pancetta, cheese and collard greens hot melt – and, The Gambino – house made cured meats and herb vinaigrette served on po-boy bread. Favorite sides are house made potato chips and pancetta mac & cheese.

Located in two restored storefronts next door to Link’s award winning restaurant, Cochon, in the Warehouse District – a 15 to 20 minute walk, or 10 minute taxi ride, from the French Quarter. Order hedonistically and don’t forget the sides. Expect a brief wait – the line moves swiftly and the recent expansion has more than doubled seating capacity.
